Turkmen Khorjin saddlebag featuring pile front & flatwoven back. Small braided loops at the tops of both bag-faces act as closures. The design of the bag faces is made up of a repeating geometric motif, with a large border, and the kilim between the faces is of squares in alternating colors. The color palette is limited to reds, whites, and browns.

Vintage Turkmen Khorjin - 1'9 x 3'

This Torba was handwoven by Tekke Turkmen Turkmenistan during the early 20th Century. This trapping features a design of eight aina güls in earthy red, browns ivory and navy. Framed by a multitude of borders that include zigzags, flowers, diamonds and serrated leaves. A torba is a small storage used to both transport and store belongings that is similar to a chuval but not as deep. Polychrome knotheads remain of what were once long fringes.

This Midcentury Yomud Turkmen Rug features an allover "dyrnak gul" latch-hooked diamond design in red, ivory, orange, green and blue on an aubergine ground. With a "curling leaf" main border and a wonderful alternating "eagle" design skirt border on the top and bottom.

Trapping was handwoven by Ersari Turkmen in middle Amu Darya region of Central Asia during the 20th Century. This trapping features an all over design of stepped diamonds in alternating earthy red and deep navy which is tightly rendered to hypnotic effect. macrame fringes that alternate between madder red and indigo. Likely made to hang on the wall or for a pack animal.

Palo Santo Bundle

A small Gansu rug woven with a lively arrangement of auspicious symbols against a deep navy field, accented in indigo blue, coral, and muted aubergine. Pairs of stylized bats appear throughout the central field, arranged around endless knots and shou symbols, while interlocking ring motifs line the outer border.

In Chinese decorative arts, the bat is a symbol of good fortune, while the shou character represents longevity and the endless knot suggests continuity and enduring harmony.
