Stiff and rugged. It usually takes a wash or 2 for the jeans to break in, but that'll take a dozen wears before that takes place. But for 14oz, these Kevlar jeans feel a little more stiff than normal, which I personally like,they feel like maybe 16-18oz jeans. We'll see how they fair after washing. Overall super happy with them
