We've been pleased to order from Pinetree for many years now because they have many heirloom seeds and other less available varieties that excel in either storage or flavor. For example, St. Valery carrots and Sweet Mama winter squash. Dwarf Siberian Kale is our favorite kale because it germinates well, can be harvested all season, is great in salads, boils or steams to very tender, and is mild in flavor. Dwarf may be misleading because it is larger than most kale with a smoother leaf. Remove leaves from the main stem which is fibrous when preparing for eating. Eat fresh or freeze after steaming to preferred tenderness to enjoy until next season.
