crook neck summer squash
this is my go to for a summer squash. the best time to harvest it is when they just start getting seedy inside but the rind is still soft. I have converted many people to this squash because it actually has a flavor and some texture too. I have to plant a lot as I have a lot of garden buddies that I keep supplied with when we trade. I planted my last hills August 1st and started the massive harvest Sept 8th. these will keep me busy picking them until frost.

YELLOW CROOKNECK SUMMER
I grew this variety last year and I loved it. Produces beautiful shaped crookneck squash. I love the flavor of crookneck squash. The plants were vigorous, and productive. Like all summer squash - The squash vine borer is a heart breaker for gardeners. I did my best to keep them producing for at least five weeks after they set fruit. This variety is the classic shaped crookneck it is really a beautiful variety. I recommend it. I am planting it again this year in my garden.
