Make a muslin!
My daughter and I were excited about this pattern, and it has nice details, but the piece sizing was troublesome. First, I measured my daughter, and she sized between 10 and 12, so I chose to make the 12. I made the bodice and attached the skirt, and the back skirt panels were both 3/4” short of lining up with the edge of the back opening on the bodice, where the zipper would be inserted! I had my daughter try it on, and I thought the bodice was too snug as well. Second try: made the bodice in size 14, and cut the skirt for size 16. This time everything lined up properly for zipper insertion. I did like the directions for the flutter sleeves and attaching the bodice lining. I am bothered that the skirt and bodice did not fit each other, but now that I know, I can work around this. My daughter did love the second (and third) make, and I was able to convert the first try into a little sister dress.

So easy and stylish to make.
The pattern was easy to read, easy to sew. Finished in 2 hours - including cutting and sewing.
