Standard Issue Boardshort

Great boardshorts like all of their products! This is their entry price point style, and they offer everything you could want or need in a boardshort. The one downside, in my opinion, which goes for pretty much all true boardshorts, is minimal pockets. These feature one side zip pocket. I just wish it was a little bigger so it could fit my phone when I'm wearing them on land. Fortunately, Florence offers some really sick Airtex shorts with side pockets and back pocket, which have been my go-to shorts all summer when I'm not surfing. I own both the first and second generation Airtex shorts, and I must say, I like the first generation more than the second generation because they look and feel more like boardshorts, but the only downside is that the waistband is not as locked down and secure as the boardshorts, so they don't quite work for surfing or even swimming around too much. I should've sprung for the Airtex boardshorts because I'm sure they solve the issue that waistband of the Airtex Gen 1 shorts has when it comes to wearing them in the water, but I'm still quite content with the Standard Issue boardies for when I'm surfing, swimming, or doing anything else in the water. Also, just like 99% of the surfing popuation, I love the ls hooded rashguard, which is something I never thought I'd say in my lifetime. Oh yea, if I didn't make it clear that I love the Airtex shorts, the Airtex shirts might be just as awesome. I got 2 SS shirts and wanted to get a hooded one, but they were sold out in L in every color but white when I made my purchase. Some day though, I will be back to get a hooded ls airtex shirt!

Awesome boardshort. Stays tight and fabric dries fast. Black color does start to show signs of fading around front area. Could be friction or board rub related but not sure.

Great boardshort. They fit well and are very comfortable both in and out of the water. My go to when I am on my boat.
