Volume 21

One of my favorite pencils. Something about the square profile and the firm graphite combination is working for me. I would love to see other profiles besides hex become part of the core lineup.

Beautiful and writes like a dream

Square shape is fun, but impractical

Love the look and design of these. Pencils are high quality and Japanese graphite writes very nicely. The only issue is the square design—it’s really fun and unique, but it’s terrible for writing. The pencils are uncomfortable in the hand, and the square shape makes it hard to hold the pencil and write. Love Blackwing Volumes, and I appreciate all the new things they try out. But this one, despite great looks, is not a winner for me.
