Square shape is fun, but impractical

Love the look and design of these. Pencils are high quality and Japanese graphite writes very nicely. The only issue is the square design—it’s really fun and unique, but it’s terrible for writing. The pencils are uncomfortable in the hand, and the square shape makes it hard to hold the pencil and write. Love Blackwing Volumes, and I appreciate all the new things they try out. But this one, despite great looks, is not a winner for me.

In this electronic world do enjoy the traditional pencil and paper. Good quality and feel.

I like the simple tree brown and unusually square. I really enjoy writing with them, and they reinforce my preference for Blackwing. I'm excited to try the new Blackwing Pen.
