Ecowitt GW3000 WiFi or Wired Gateway with SD Card Slot

Nice and easy

I have a Ventus weather station on the hill above my house. It uses an Ecowitt WH24-style Y-sensor, but using the standard console as a gateway was problematic because it was Wi-Fi only and designed for indoor use, not stuck in a box on a hill in all weathers, so I swapped it for a GW3000. It's great. The LAN connection is a lot more stable, it picks up the sensor set much better, and I can continue to feed my weather services using the same logins, so no data history has been lost. I'm now investigating some of the water management sensors available as it's co-located with my borehole.

The perfect solution!

I have a full Davis weather station but wanted to keep an eye on the temperature and soil moisture of some pots in the greenhouse, I have Davis moisture sensors in the veg garden but these are too big for pots. After searching the web I decided the Ecowitt system seemed fit for purpose and ordered the gateway and sensors. The gateway was a breeze to setup and saw all the sensors, and within an hour was installed and transmitting data. Weather spares gave a first class service with a keen price, prompt posting and good communication on the delivery, product and seller highly recommend.
