Gateau Basque Cake

This looks nothing like the photo. It was in a styrofoam box inside a cardboard box with eight inches above the cake box to spare with no packing or refrigeration. The cake is lopsided from apparently being tilted to one side. It is batter partially cooked and runny. The instructions say “Bake from frozen” for 40 to 50 minutes. It is not frozen. It is not even cold. The mold the cake is in is bent and crooked. The ingredients include eggs, butter and cream. This is a wonderful cake, but something went wrong with the preparation, packing and delivery. What a disappointment for a birthday dinner.
