A superb Class 37 and a very welcome addition to my collection
The Accurascale ACC3161-DCC Class 37 RF Construction 37414, factory sound fitted, is an excellent model and a very welcome addition to my collection.
The finish, printing and overall detail are superb. Accurascale have captured the Railfreight Construction livery very well, and the model has a strong, realistic presence on the layout. The decoration is crisp, the detailing is impressive, and it looks every bit the premium locomotive.
It also performs exactly as I would expect from a quality factory sound fitted model. It worked perfectly straight out of the box, runs smoothly, and the sound package is excellent. I run it on an ESU ECoS controller system, and the performance has been reliable and very enjoyable.
I only started buying Accurascale models around 18 months ago, but I have now purchased almost 50 of them. Over the last three and a half years, I have acquired 581 locomotives in total, so I have plenty to compare this against. This Class 37 stands up extremely well and is easily one of the stronger models in my collection.
For the price, the level of detail, running quality and factory fitted sound make this very good value. It feels like a high quality model in every respect.
My advice remains the same: if you intend to run DCC sound, buy the factory sound fitted version from the start. In my experience, it is often cheaper, cleaner and far less hassle than buying DCC ready and fitting sound afterwards.
Overall, this is another superb Class 37 from Accurascale. A great locomotive, beautifully finished, excellent to run, and fully deserving of five stars. Highly recommended.
