Lisianthus Dress Best Ever

This is the best thing I've made so far. Have to congratulate myself on my fabric selection - the secret to all the patterns no matter who the designer is. I selected some cotton lawn, floral of course. Could not have asked for easier pattern. Totally makes sense and as a hand sewer, I loved how the dress went together. I really think I outdid myself - or was it the well designed, tailored, unique little dress. I wonder!! Take this designer's couture sewing course. It really gave me a ton of confidence.

Something's Missing...

This pattern left me frustrated a couple of times. Firstly, the skirt pattern piece is not included. They just give you measurements to cut out a recatangle. I would think for a $9 pattern delivered digitally they could include this, just to save me a step or two. Also, if you choose to bind the armholes, the width of the bias tape called for is not near enough. It called for 1" wide strips. I used this initially and didn't have enough fabric to wrap around the seam, even though I followed the instructions as to seam allowance width and trimming. I had to pop the stitches and cut new bias that was about 1-3/4" wide. This performed much better. This has me wondering who even tests these patterns? Not the first time I've had to improvise with a Pixie Faire pattern. And I am a very experienced seamstress so it's not like I'm new at this. The dress is, however a very pretty shape and fits the doll well, and I like my finished product. Just not the price of the incomplete pattern. :-/

Llsianthus Dress for 18” doll

I purchased this pattern because of the unique bodice and midriff detailing. I’ve made it and it turned out really cute. I made it from quilting cotton so I did not double the skirt, I hemmed it instead. I thought the doubled skirt out of cotton would be too bulky. The directions were easy to follow and I had no issues whatsoever. I intend to make a few more with different trims, fabric patterns and colors. Thank you for a beautiful pattern.
