Ordered the cotton solid ribbed. I found them a bit thin. Decided to try fine merino wool version for a little more weight. Both are well done. For me the merino wool would be best option. In addition I thought tops would need to be longer but top is strong and they stay up. I wear size 8 1/2 shoe and the smaller size would work better for future purchases. I have worn OTC for many years and your socks are near the top of what I have found anywhere.
