Good replacement

I did have a badly rusted frame on a V1. The replacement is MUCH better. It didn't have any chip on it, but there were some scratches on less visible areas which appeared pale w/r to the rest (dark grey vs black). I've used some Sharpie to cover them, which makes them less visible. Attached is a picture of a scratch covered with Sharpie. I had some initial doubts about this option because of the potential scratches and chips, but I think this is a very good solution. Don't forget the frame is just a "small" part of the machine. FYI, there's a brushed stainless steel chassis available on eBay in Australia if you prefer this look.

Thanks to Coffee Addicts with their help rebuilding my 10 year old Silvia. All the correct parts arrived well packed. My model had the painted steel frame and it had a lot of rust so I decided to upgrade to the new stainless version. Installation took a few hours but was not too complicated. Just make sure to label all the wires! Only complaint is that the new frame had a few small paint chips. Coffee Addicts explained that they often come that way from the factory. Since it’s stainless steel I am hoping that even with the chip it will not rust in the future.
