Excellent and Elegant solution!!!

Was skeptical at first, cobbled tech seems to always let me down. Not this time, simple plug and play, great step by step install instructions, and I was up and running with my iMac 27” 5K screen available to me. Spectacular solution, affordable price, and it JUST WORKS!!! Please note, that with the addition of a Thunderbolt 4 cable, it is rock solid.

Challenging.

I'm using a 2022 iMac as my primary and a 2017 iMac as my secondary. I could not get through the setup without the help of ChatGPT. Had a clicking noise that would not go away. Took a while to resolve. Steps by step using AI to isolate the issue. I haven't made extensive use yet, but so far, okay but not Wonder.

Mostly Very Satisfied

I’m mostly very satisfied with the Luna after using for a couple of weeks. I’m using a 2026 Mac Book Pro M5 running Tahoe (26.5.2) and connecting to a 2017 iMac that tops out at Ventura (13.7.8) -so I can’t connect directly with the iMac (it needs OS 15). I connect via Ethernet – my MacBook Pro connects to Ethernet via a Thunderbolt Hub and the iMac is connected directly to my router. The Ethernet connection for Luna works very well – it does everything I need it to (email, word processing, Internet and photo editing for the most part). I’m not so sure about using it for videos. And connecting via my wi-fi doesn’t work – when scrolling or screen rendering there’s a lag-time where the text is blurry. It took me some experimenting to find how to position the two monitors so that the mouse cursor didn’t disappear when I moved between the monitors. Playing around with all the various options, particularly Arrange, was useful. For the most part, Luna remembers the position of the windows when I reconnect after I’ve moved to the iMac after disconnecting the MB Pro to work untethered. It works best for me to quit Luna Secondary on the iMac before letting the Primary sleep – when I let the primary computer sleep with the iMac connected, the iMac is inconsistent in dimming completely (the two support articles on this subject didn’t resolve the issue for me); I also twice had to quit and restart Luna on the primary. It works best if I hide everything on the iMac before leaving a work session and closing the Mac Book Pro (primary) to sleep it – otherwise I sometimes need to rearrange windows back to where I want them upon reconnecting. One thing: the iMac has a native resolution of up to 5120 x 2880 but the best I can do with Luna with “Retina Resolution” enabled. is 2560 x 1440.) I wouldn’t use it for video editing. The bottom line: I’m very glad to have Luna – it keeps my iMac alive and saves the cost of buying a new external monitor. The 30-day return made trying it a no-brainer. It took a few days to get everything working correctly for me but it was worth it.
