Delicious
I was interested in trying this classic Wuyi rock tea as a complement to Da Hong Pao, which has become a favorite. This Qi Lan had a somewhat less roasted, less mineral flavor than a good DHP. To me it seemed to have a more floral and winey flavor but it retained some of the woodsy overtones characteristic of rock teas and also had a touch of tannin to give it backbone. Altogether, I found it a satisfyingly well-balanced tea and Qi Lan has become a go-to tea for me, particularly on a cool Summer morning.
