Why can I say, I buy her nice, expensive pens and she shrugs. Then I buy her her second Metropolitan in a different color with the stub nib and she thinks it’s the greatest pen in the world! She’s a keeper, and so is the metro!

Great Fountain Pen at a Good Price Point

We have three Pilot Metropolitan pens in our household. All have medium nibs and write smoothly without skips or hard starts. These pens are very well crafted and the retro pop colors lend a fun, casual, appearance more attractive than I would have thought from the photos. I am an old guy and have used fountain pens off and on since my grade school days and can say that these pens write better than any of the inexpensive pens I remember, and even better than some of the more expensive pens I've had through the years. If you are ready to try fountain pens for the first time, or you are looking for a casual knock-around pen, I don't think you can go wrong with the Pilot Metropolitan.
