Noodler's Polar Blue - 3oz Bottled Ink

Excellent low-temperature ink. I occasionally have to work at extremely low temperatures, recording instrument readings on the spot in the field. Ballpoints usually fail under these conditions, even if I keep the pen in my pocket between instrument readings. But Polar Blue, and even Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, allow me to use my fountain pen just as I do at room temperature, even when I'm working at temperatures below zero Fahrenheit (-17 Celsius). This has made my work in the field a lot easier and faster. I am quite pleased with this excellent ink!

The color is more of a purple-blue at times rather than a blue - blue, but I like it. Mostly though, I like how waterproof it is. Definitely a reassurance when writing journals and lecture notes. The only downside is that it does tend to feather a bit when using cheap paper. For reference, I’m writing with a TWSBI AL580 extra fine nib.
