Maruman Mnemosyne N199 A4 Notebook - Lined

Sturdy construction and nice paper.

The Maruman Mnemosyne notebooks are outstanding in two me in two key ways: their robust construction and sturdy plastic covers, and their lovely fountain-pen-friendly paper. The paper performs similar to Rhodia in terms of ghosting and bleedthrough, and I find the surface slightly superior in terms of smoothness and lower ink spreading. Some might find the page headers a little distracting, but as this is used as a planning book for me, I find them helpful. The 7mm ruling with a slightly heavier line every 10th line makes it easy to divide the page into multiple blocks when needed, and there are tiny marks that allow one to draw a vertical rule in the center of the page and to create 40mm margins. I suppose these notebooks would also be great for bullet journaling. The A4 size is classic, and it works well as a desk book, but I find it just a bit large for every day carry. I will probably check out the B5 and A5 sizes eventually to find my personal optimum for space to write and plan versus portability.

Very nice. Only gripe was it’s about $3 - $4 too expensive

Goulet's Pens are the best!
