Clairefontaine Basic Clothbound A4 Notebook - Green, Lined

Early Days

Early days, but I am enjoying the size and quality of this notebook. The A4 size and the quality of the page paper and cover material give this notebook a, to me, nostalgic, ledger-like quality. I am using this book as a repository for writing practice and a variety of analog musings. And for that, the longer, slightly narrower pages of a full sized A4 notebook work well on my desk top. I am able to paste in copies of letters and other ephemera and also directly record thoughts pen to paper. My father told me that when my grandfather sold his last corner grocery in the late 1940's there were big old slant top accountant's desks in the back room where bookkeepers did the work of today's spreadsheets with paper ledgers. High desks and monumental arithmetic manuscripts in pen and ink. This notebook evokes that kind of day to day recording of accounts and flows of monies and sustenance, but without the awful tedium of hand writing column after column of profit and expenditures by hand.

Great Notebook love Clairefontaine paper

Excellent Notebook

The green is deeper (and more to my liking) than the picture shows. The pages are excellent and it lays quite flat making writing in it very easy. I fill these notebooks up with my morning pages and use a variety of fountain pens. No downsides that I'm able to identify.
