The Orion Cooker® 3.0 Convection Cooker & Smoker

We bought our first Orion in 2008, and it performed beautifully for many years. I bought the Orion 3.0, assembled it, but I have not tried it yet. One issue is that the cooking guide included with the 3.0 did not have cooking times. Why not?? I still have the original owner's manual so I have the cooking times there. Also, if I use the spacers that were included, does that decrease the suggested cooking times?

love this smoker assembly was a little tricky but after you determine what bolts go where went together as it should! the cooker itself worked really well smoked 3 racks of ribs, and everyone loved the smoke flavor, looking forward to using it soon. cooks super-fast as advertised very impressed with this cooker/smoker !! DEFINATELTY RECOMEND 5 STARS

Orion 3.0 versus Original

I had the original Orion cooker for about 12 years and used it very frequently for many different meats with complete confidence. As you said "do not question our cooking times". I didn't, learned that the hard way,.and was never disappointed. Held off from buying the 3.0. Finally broke down and bought it. I have used it hoping for the wonderful results of the original but I was sadly disappointed. I followed your instructions and timing but the ribs were not as I remembered and enjoyed . They did not get done enough to be falling off the bone. I am planning on trying a Boston butt soon hoping for better results. Any tips would be appreciated. The 3.0 does seem to hold heat better. Clean up thoughts. I do not think the clean up is easier. I like the little dump the ashes door that this one is missing. I appreciate the fact that by having the coals enclosed they smoking process is protected from the weather. Clean up is not as easy as before with regard to the ashes and the canister. All that being said I am not impressed with the new, improved model. I am not giving up on it but I do not have the trust in it like I did the original. I never doubted whatever I chose to smoke would not come out perfect on the original. Hopefully I will feel this way again. As I said any advice would be appreciated as I have enjoyed and recommended your product for years.
