It worked very well to dig the holes for deep watering pvc 5 foot pipes around my Redwood. I used a 4 hose manifold to surround my tree 5 foot deep with pvc pipes so it does not go breaking up my sewer looking for water. Watering deep prevents water loss due to evaporation. While it would seem I could have put a nozzle on the pvc pipes to dig the hole, it turned out I could only dig that deep with your thin metal Probe.
