Fits great holds tight

This is the first mouth or tooth guard I have purchased. It fits good, however when I sleep on my side, it amplifies the fact that lower jaw joints are loose, my jaw sags and becomes misaligned to the point that the mouth guard becomes uncomfortable with the contact between my it and my lower molars. I was unaware of this condition before my purchase. Possibly a softer guard would be better?.
