The shape flows seamlessly in both directions, a little noise as it travels but nothing too much. Just travels far faster than we expected, you tip it over and straight down it goes. So for us, as good as it is, we thought it would move slower so you could watch it rotate all the way down.

I like a good visual fidget/sensory item and this is a great one.
I chose the black with the purple colour shifting nut. It makes a nice gentle noise when the nut slides. I like to either just flip it and watch the nut or flick the nut from the bottom and watch it travel up and then back down the post.
