Springfield Armory - XDs 9mm / 40SW / 45ACP 3.3in - Appendix Carry - Strong Side - Single Clip Holster

Comfortable and well made- could use a few tweaks

I've been strong side carrying my XDS 45 for over ten years and decided to give appendix a try. After trying it with a generic IWB kydex holster, I didn't like how the rigid kydex poked me in the groin while sitting. After a lot of research, I settled on Hidden Hybrid since it had good reviews for comfort, which was my goal. I've been very impressed with the holster from a build quality and comfort standpoint- it's really nice. I can wear it all day and don't notice it's there. I would improve a few things though. First, I would love a way to adjust how high it sits outside the belt line. Sitting in an office all day, I appreciate less footprint below the belt line. The current clip can set cant, but not depth. Second, I kind of wish they used a thinner kydex. I feel like the added thickness while good from a durability standpoint, pushes the overall "bulge" out further than it needs to be, even with a thin gun like the XDS. Finally, I could do without the suede lining. I have a bunch of leather IWB holsters and I find that a high quality smooth leather (like the Amish stuff HH uses) is already super comfortable. Deleting the suede layer would help thin the profile and improve concealability without really affecting comfort for me. Maybe they could include an option to delete the suede when ordering? However these are small nits and really just suggestions to make the holster even better. I'm very happy with the holster and wear it nearly every day. The build quality is simply better than any other holster I've seen and it's worth the money. I'll probably get a second one for my full size M&P 9.

This is my second hidden hybrid holster. I have been using one with my XDm. They are both great. I am often in a vehicle for hours, and they are always comfortable. They hold the firearm securely and are discreet. They are really the best holsters that I have used with the XD platform. My buddy has used them for years for his Glocks and feels the same way.
