Frangipani 5-ply Guernsey Wool Yarn

My favorite yarn.

Frangipani has a great "snap" to it that makes working with it a real pleasure. It provides very high definition results: see WIP sweater photo, attached. Although it feels a bit string-like at first, after a few washings, garments are soft, great for travel, and dry quickly after washing. I had been looking for a good 5-ply for years since Bradford closed, and am so happy Woolly Thistle carries it.

Frangipani Wool

I was looking for a soft but sturdy yarn to knit a pair of Gairloch kilt hose for my husband. When I saw the Frangipani cones on TWT's website, I was impressed by the description and the colors so I ordered two 500 gram 1200 yd cones (Helford Blue and Claret). That's way more than I need for the hose, but I'm also a weaver and the yarn will be perfect for a warm, draped twill shawl I'm planning. Thanks, Wooly Thistle!

Smooth, Delightful Yarn

what an absolute delight to work up! I bought the Greystone shade and I am delighted by how pretty it is and couldn't help but start to work with it once i got home. The 5 ply is so smooth and stays together well. I was so delighted, in fact, I immediately ordered 2 more cones off the website!! Thank you for bringing such a lovely yarn to NH!
