Holds up to heavy use

I've been using these for a number of years and work them 3 to 4 times a week getting hand plane blades ready for final edge. I restore and use hand planes size 4 through 8 keeping the edge keen is always a bit of a chore, having a protocol down that I use on all of them keeps my shop is order. I use these to take out the grinder marks and finalize the bevel on the blades before moving to my final edge protocol. This cut the time significantly due to not having to use water or oil and they are easy to clean with a little kerosene and a natural brush.

Work great, but quality control a bit lax

One corner of the stone was dinged up, perhaps it had been dropped on a hard surface during manufacturing. This didn't affect the quality of the sharpening, but it makes for a less-than-completely-flat surface. I didn't bother asking for a replacement, but I'm sure this company would honor that.

Does it live up to it's description?

This tool really does a fantastic job!!! I cut a piece of pallet wood to make a stand for it. And now my wife never complains about having a dull kitchen knife, and my pocket knifes have never been shaper. I am not very good at sharpening knives, but this makes it look like I am an expert.
