Speedup Tide 14mm (All Shapes)

I liked others Tie H, but mine came in heavy 😟

I played with a few of my friends Tide hybrid, and I loved it. Quick and responsive. So I purchased my own. Unfortunately mine came in head heavy with the stock weight of 8.1 ounces. I always have trouble trying to balance a paddle that starts off this head heavy. It’s not to my liking. I tried a few different configurations to try to balance the weight or make it play like I want it played. But I have not been successful yet. 🙁

Excellent paddle

I switched from the Ronbus Quanta (4.16) hybrid and after three days playing with the Speedup am already happy with the difference. The paddle is poppier than the weighted Ronbus was. Really the only issue is those who purchased the paddle before me got a grittier paddle surface. This means the paddle doesn’t produce as much topspin as those who got an earlier version of the paddle, but I find it excellent nonetheless.

Excellent Paddle

I had been using a weighted Ice 16mm for singles play. I wanted an affordable paddle that was bit more modern and also also affordable. Seeing that the Tide Elongated was half the price of what some competitors were charging, and the brand was familiar, I purchased an elongated for everyday use. The elongated paddle is excellent in stock form. Very intuitively weighted, and comfortable for full swings. At the kitchen it is sufficiently fast, but not as immediate as some others. If you can anticipate the ball most of the time you will be fine. The paddle is not plush. I enjoy that feeling, but keep that in mind.
