Like all of the courses I've taken here, the instructions were easy to follow and the video was a great help. I will continue to be a repeat user.

My daughter and I had so much fun decorating cookies. The detailed instructions were so helpful, especially how to get the icing consistencies just right. I can't wait to order more classes.

Every Detail is Explained - Grace is Wonderful!

I was experienced at using buttercream icing with bags and tips, so I thought I'd try this class. The pdf and the videos were so helpful. From the cookie recipe (which reminds me of a shortbread cookie) to the videos of icing consistencies, everything was well-thought through and organized. Grace makes it look so easy! Unfortunately, I ran into a few issues. First, nowhere near me carries the tipless bags, so I tried to order online. But no place online could deliver before Christmas. So I resigned myself to just using the normal icing bags with round tips that approximated the tipless cut bags. However, I only had 3 smallish round tips plus one large one (which worked great for the flood steps). I was madly swapping tips between bags to get it all done, and it probably took me a lot longer than it would have if I'd had the correct bags. I also discovered that Royal Icing is quite a bit different to work with than buttercream. I'm sure there's a learning curve, but I'm still at the bottom of that, lol. Will I try another course? Absolutely! And hopefully I'll get as skilled with this type of icing as I am with buttercream. I gave cookies as gifts to all of the folks at the office where I go for PT on my knee after a replacement. And the rest, I'm serving for Christmas dinner! They are so cute, even with my mediocre results.
