Did the trick!
I just bought a 2008 Shadow Spirit VT750CT that had a problem at 1/2 throttle. I am glad I had found TJ's site because I was trying out Seafoam as a remedy until I saw his video talking about a leaky carb and what could be causing it and the effects. I followed his single carb tear down and reassembly videos and was able to sweat through the Summer heat to get the bike running with basically no mixture tuning. His recommendation appears to be spot on with the mixture screw. I was concerned that I had a couple extra screws that could have replaced the cooling housing body screws because I can not figure that out. Also, in his tear down video, he mentions not to lose the needle jet and cleans it. When I reassembling my carb, I put my original back in and did not realize the kit has a new one in there. I was so far done once I realized it, that I decided to say screw it and drive on. The other part I was confused about was that in the first video, he mentioned to remember the screw, metal washer, and rubber washer that came out with the mixture screw. However, in the second video he does not mention those and says that they are on the new TJBC mixture screw, so I left the originals out of there hope that does not cause any issues. I was able to to take the bike out and ride 40 miles with no issues and really enjoy my bike now. Oh yea, I wanted to mention that you if you flip up the rubber boot on the choke adjuster, you can tighten it to where it does not slide back in.
