The tripod does more than advertised. The ball head is removable from the tripod and it has a cold shoe mount as well as a screw hole mount under it, so it can be used on a camera. The ball head mount is actually also removable and reversible so the ball head can have a cold shoe on top. Meaning it is a ball head that can be mounted on a cold shoe, and support two cold shoes, one on the ball head. The locking turner for the ball head also locks the bottom screw hole, so the entire ball head can rotate in relation to the cold shoe mount, and then it can be locked in.The ball head's top screw is the same size as the tripod's top screw, giving the option of putting the cold shoe or screw mount straight on the tripodd without the ball head in between. The amount of options from such a small and affordable tripod is staggering and is definitely a recommend for the Magic or other microphones, small video lights etc. The engineering and design teams deserve praise for this little tripod.
