Lower clearance, great tap
I bought this when I found that the 1 gallon trail keg with regulator and chrome tap was an inch or two too tall to fit upright in my beer fridge. This tap has a lower clearance so it worked perfectly. If you are between the two here is what I can say; the chrome tap looks great, pours great, and just feels cool on a little keg like this. The picnic tap still pours very well, it's easier to clean, and in my experience it's less prone to spilling, accidentally opening, or dripping after a pour. I also have had issues with the chrome tap being just ever so slightly open when I pressurized the trailkeg and some spilling out because of it, with the picnic tap its harder to have that happen. All together I like them both a lot. As I've said I've had better luck with the picnic tap but I bought the chrome tap for austetic appeal not performance so I think they both have lived up to expectations.
