PDT (PDTools) Premium Silver CBN – Vitrified-Metal Bonded

I’ve wanted to use CBN stones to set bevels and remove chips on harder brittle steel knives I own and some that I sharpen for others. Diamond plates can be effective, but leave deeper scratches and can cause chipping if care isn’t exercised. CBN stones are reputed to cut effectively and due to the shape of CBN particles, they leave finer scratches in the secondary bevel. I previously ordered the 225, 325, and 1100 grit versions of the PDT Silver bonded CBN stone. The 650 completed the set. I’ve used the set 3 times and I am impressed. They cut quickly, leave minor scratches and the resulting edge only requires a single resin bonded 3000 grit stone and minor polishing with a ceramic stone to complete. If they are durable, then the investment was worthwhile.

Have not used yet planing to purchase 650 and 1500 grits next
