Super inconsistent sizing, runs quite small

These underwear are firmly OK. Love the cut and colors, but the sizing is super inconsistent (like over an inch difference in the same cut/size on the waistbands, depending on color). Also, the sizing is absurd. I am 5'4", weigh about 125, size 25-26 in pants and wear a L in these thongs, which would be fine, just kind of confusing, as I typically wear a small in most brands.
