Reclaimed Barrel Oak Peel & Stick Wood Corner Trim

We ordered three of these for our project plus a corner sample for our 92" of wall, figuring we would have to cut one of them somehow to fit them all on the wall corner. However, they were only 28" long, not 29.75", which mean we didn't have to trim at all. One of the corner pieces had an orange fungus looking growth on it which I was able to clean off. These are from old wine barrels, so while I was initially upset by this, it is the nature of reclaimed wood and it did clean up OK. Two of the corner pieces were solid brown like the sample I had ordered, so were as I had expected they would look based on my corner sample and regular samples, and one of them was more stripey, with alternating light and dark areas. I had not noticed this in any of the reviews or pictures, and was expecting them to be varying brown shades but not so stripey looking. But again, the wood is from wine barrels so the pattern must come from the barrel straps. Now that the corner pieces are on the wall with the equally stripey patterned regular wood, it all blends and makes the variation in pattern and we are pleased with how it looks.
