A certificate number can tell you more about kids fashion claims than a leaf-green label ever will.

Before buying, look up the number on the certifying body's own website. Then check the scope line: what does the certificate actually cover? GOTS covers organic fiber plus processing, while OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests finished articles for harmful substances. Check the dates, too, so you know the certificate is current.

A named certification is a useful starting point. Its scope is the fine print that makes the claim clear. Our guide from Doodlebug's Children's Boutique shares more ways to check what a label really promises.

For growing room, measure your child's foot in inches, then add 1/4 to 1/2 inch when choosing seamless socks.

That small allowance can help make room for growing feet without leaving socks too loose. Measure both feet, and use the larger measurement to guide your size choice. A quick step before ordering a multipack, especially if fit and toe pressure can affect your child's comfort.

At Doodlebug's Children's Boutique, we want sock shopping to feel a little easier. Start with a foot measurement, then check the size chart. A little room to grow.

For magnetic vs snap pajamas, one-piece footies make a middle-of-the-night change simpler: there are fewer pieces to take off and put back on. At 3 a.m., keeping the outfit to one piece means less fuss while you're changing a diaper. Our footies are made with a 95% viscose-from-bamboo, 5% spandex blend. A small detail that can make the routine easier. Find our footies through the link in bio.

A hangtag with clear fiber content and specific dye details can help you assess non-toxic dyes in kids' clothing.

Look for terms like "azo-free" or "low-impact" alongside the fabric content. A vague "eco" claim doesn't tell you which dyes were used, so it gives you less to go on. Small label details matter.

At Doodlebug's Children's Boutique, we want families to feel confident checking what touches their child's skin. Read the hangtag, then look for a named certification if one is listed. More useful information, right where you need it.

Spring can be a smart time to shop secondhand children's clothing, especially for next winter's coat. Seasonal timing may mean lower prices, so keep an eye out for a coat in the next size up while winter gear is out of season. Check the seams, cuffs, closures, and fabric weight before buying, then store it until the cold weather returns. A little planning now can make next winter's clothing budget gentler. Our team at Doodlebug's Children's Boutique loves a practical find that's ready when your child needs it.

Bamboo clothes for growth spurts can have room in the body while pajamas still fit safely at the neck and wrists.

When you size up, check those cuffs before bedtime: the neck and wrist openings should stay snug, even if the torso has extra space. That way, your child can move comfortably without loose openings shifting around. A little extra body room, snug cuffs. One small fit check worth making as kids grow.
