This smelled a lot more perfumey and not as much like actual rice as I was expecting, and the drydown was about 80% similar to Le Labo The Matcha. That said, it’s a nice clean and well blended fragrance, but I’m not buying a full bottle because I already own The Matcha. I prefer mango sticky rice or Japanese whiskey from this line, as they smell a lot more interesting and unique to my nose. But if you are looking for an everyday wearable clean scent, this is a beautiful option.

This was love at first sniff. It’s like coming home from work, and it’s raining outside, so you take a shower, slip into some newly washed cotton clothes, sit down at the table to a bowl of freshly made white rice, steam rising to the top. And next to you is a vase of freshly made white flowers. It is comforting and warm and inviting and everything I have ever wanted in a skin scent.

I wanted to like this, but its base is that hollow, woody, scratchy base you smell in a lot of cheaper fragrances. I can tell they tried to use it well, but I just can't.Same scratchiness in something like CH VIP 212. I think is maybe AMbroxan? Can't tell anymore these days with so many synthetic/amberwood bases out there. Not for me
