I bought this backpack for my wife. She loves it. It is very big, which works for her because she often takes it to the beach with and can pack everything she needs. The one thing she worries about is leaving if uncovered, since she thinks it looks so nice someone might take it. I don't think it would be a great bag for her to take longer hikes with, as it is pretty heavy and large for a smaller person.
