So, this nohkan is a resin model. It's totally up to the job, so much of nohkan playing is about the expressive nature of individual technique that it can be as much of a professional instrument as any in the right hands.
Every nohkan is different. What is special about the more expensive bamboo flutes is that their tone color is *more* different from each other than resin, due to the handmade processes and natural materials.
The difference between an inexpensive plastic nohkan and a fancy bamboo one is character, not quality. Taikoshop seems to be very good about quality on all instruments regardless of price.
If you're playing in a traditional noh situation, you want a bamboo instrument because the unique qualities of each flute match the unique nature of each performance in the tradition.
If you want to do what I do and use nohkan for multiple purposes, it's good to have a resin instrument that is weather-resistant. Different purposes, but you're still getting excellent quality control from the distributor in Kyoto.

While I’ve never actually played or even held a Nohkan before, it seems like a very serviceable beginner’s flute to me.
The resin should weather changes in temperature and humidity quite well. It is low-maintenance, solidly built and quite playable.
