Nice piece of history, but...
Nice piece of history. The price was high, especially for slightly dented and creased packaging. Estes should sell damaged packaging at a discount and notify the customer in advance. If this is truly a collectible piece of history, Estes should not be selling it in damaged packaging.

I have known Vern & Gleda Estes since the 1960's. My father, Ellsworth Beetch was the second NAR president following G. Harry Stine in 1967. NARAM 9 was held in my home town of Mankato MN. Guess you could say am well versed in model rocketry. Glad to add this kit to my collection in her honor.

Wonderful Tribute
I am so proud to have this rocket that commemorates all the hard work and importance of this fine lady. She would have been proud of this rocket. She and Vern created a company that made model rocketry affordable, safe, and fun. I even had the pleasure of sitting at her table at a NARCON. She was a magnificent lady. I am so glad that the NAR is going to use the proceeds from this rocket to do something in her name.
