Pinatubo Boxer Briefs - 5"

Super comfortable and they hold up well

My oldest pair of Krakatoa is at least 4 or 5 years old and they don't look much different than the newest pairs that I bought a couple of weeks ago. The waist band looks and feels great on my oldest to newest. The material doesn't have any odd thin spots or wear. The legs are still nice and tight. I have owned underwear from all of the major athletic brands, expensive brands that base their marketing around traveling, and several different versions of the separating boxer briefs that have great marketing. I do a ton of summer hiking and winter mountaineering, I lift weights several days a week, and I do some traveling around the world. I have never found boxer briefs that could do all three with ease until Krakatoa. I put them on and forget about them. They don't ride up my legs, the waistband doesn't roll or flip, the pouch area is excellent for allowing things to have some space without constricting, and they don't hold moisture at all. I can climb a mountain all day without any odd friction or needing to reposition anything. I can do deep squats without the legs getting stretched out or stuck higher up on my thigh. These really do perform as advertised and are incredibly comfortable. The length is tricky for me and I have purchased several different variations trying to find what I like best. I wear a size M and own 7", 5", and trunks Pinatubo style. The trunks are a definite no for me because of the shape of my leg. The 5" are great when I am wearing shorts because they rarely show no matter how I sit. The 7" are also great if I am wearing pants and like that little bit of extra length, especially climbing in the cold.

Good fit, good feel - very thin material.

The Krakatoa underwear fits very well, and feels good to wear - keeps the package in a very comfortable full pouch away from my thighs, etc - actually the best thing about them! The waist band doesn't bind or curl, which is very nice. - The underwear material is very thin - you can feel everything through them - like the seam of your pants - and the material is super-stretchy - no bind at all, which may or may not be good - as you can't feel if it's being pulled or stretched too much - particularly while sleeping. --- The "ifs" and "maybes" cost them part of a star - the rest of the one star drop is because they came with more advertising verbage packed with them than a new herbal cure-all - BUT - NO washing instructions whatsoever - not even on the label inside the waist band. When a company is more super-focused on tooting their horn than how to take care of their product - an instant flag goes up. They may or may not be worth 4 stars in the long run - we'll sse.

All-Around Winners

These boxer briefs were everything I'd hoped for and more: soft and luxurious, so comfortable they felt almost nonexistent, reasonably priced, and nice-looking as well. For years I've been on an informal quest to find, if not the ultimate underwear, then at least some that I can reach for with confidence when I open my underwear drawer (my drawers drawer?). I'll try almost any new brand I run across, unless it's outrageously priced. The best ones I buy again and again, until another brand catches my attention. These boxer briefs - my style of choice these days - are a worthy addition to my collection.
