I wanted a more lightweight, stylish shoe that did not look like a construction shoe or boot. I bought the boots and low cut shoes in various colors. I have had a black pair for about a year now and they are holding up really well. The only thing that has happened to them is I am loosing the knobies on the bottom as all the walking I do is wearing down the ruber. I still wear them everyday. The ratchet style string tightener is the best ever. Makes on and offs so quick. I love these shoes and boots and I have bought all the styles they have so far and look forward to some new designs. I wear my low cut shoes that look like sneakers everyday. I wear them no matter what the occasion is. I have safety for my feet 100% of the time even for social occasions. Do not hesitate to buy these. Some people will not like them but that is just the way it goes but for the rest of you who like these the moment you put your foot into your first pair you will become a believer.
