Plague Doctor

Did this painting for my son, who is a big Plague Doctor fan. He loved it. Apologies for the glare in the bottom right side. I'm happy with the way it turned out, though it did have areas that required multiple touch ups and tweaking. The coat looks much more blue/purple in the photo than it does on the painting. Only problem I found was that some of the lines, which were in red, were very faint / faded and very hard to see. The guide which accompanied it wasn't very easy to read either for some of the more complicated areas. Much of the coat I ended up blending at the area edges to improve it's appearance (I felt). I ended up doing the light dot pupil of the eye in a lighter color than was charted, made it stand out much more. Also customized the beak a little, especially around the end point. All in all very happy with this, came nicely stretched/framed. There was enough paint for completion. For these type of paintings I choose to paint the edge in a very solid black right around the edge of the frame to finish it off. Add the hanger and it's ready to hang.

I am so disappointed. Out of 7 paint kits maybe 1 is kind of easy to read. The prints are so small and the numbers are on top of eachother. Even the print out guide is hard to read. I was also under the impression that this company was in the US. And that it wouldnt take long for shipping but i was wrong.
