964/993 Shifter and Adjustable Rod Bundle

The shifter is great. It would easily get 5 stars if I hadn't bought the package. The shift rod needs some additional design effort. Trying to pass a torsional load through a locknut type threaded joint is not good design practice. It needs a set screw or to be cross drilled to transmit the torsion without relying on a lock nut and Loctite. Again...the shifter is excellent! But I pulled the shift rod and went back to the stock shift rod.

I fitted the whole Numeric racing short shift kit (rubber bellow, shift boot trim panel, shifter, shift knob and adjustable rod) to my lightweight 964 4.0 litre. It's top quality engineering and matched with my RS clutch and fly wheels it brings the car to life.. It's so direct and accurate. I would be surprised if there is anything better in the market. It's the closest you can get to sequential without loosing that lovely manual feel. Far superior to OEM RS.

Very good product! Look forward to testing it on the roads this summer. I found the shifter rod a bit hard to adjust so I modified it and installed two locking screws on it
