Excel No. 64 Replacement Swivel Knife Blades. I recently bought two sets of blades (4 blades) for my current project and future replacements. I’ve used these blades before and found them great for cutting intricate curves in thin material. However, my current project required trimming a mask over wood, and it was difficult to trace my pattern because the blade followed the wood grain. Fortunately, I had several #6 Micro Stencil Blades in reserve. I completed my project using a stencil blade, which was easier to control. Stencil blades are similar in size to the swivel blade but are held firmly by the handle, making it easier to control the tendency to drift. I’ve found it beneficial to have a supply of various Excel blades, which gives me a choice.
