Pontoon Boat Ladder 4-Step

Been wanting to add a proper boarding ladder to my Larson Bowrider for a while, and this was exactly what I needed. My biggest concern going in was whether it would clear the outboard motor and mounting bracket — a lot of ladders I looked at seemed like they'd interfere with the motor's tilt range or get in the way when trimmed up. This one mounts far enough to the side that it doesn't touch the motor at all, even with it tilted. Installation was simple — predrilled mounting holes matched up with a solid spot on the transom, didn't have to improvise or drill anything off-plan. Once it's up and locked, it folds completely flat against the back of the boat, so it's not sticking out and catching on the trailer guides or dock lines when we're loading up. That was actually a dealbreaker on a couple other ladders I considered — some of them stick out too far even folded and end up getting knocked around during trailering. When deployed, the four steps give plenty of room to climb out, and it locks securely at the top so it doesn't slide or collapse under weight when someone's using it to climb back in from the water. The stainless finish also matches well with the rest of the hardware on the boat, so it doesn't look like an aftermarket add-on. For anyone with an older boat that never came with a rear boarding ladder, this solves that problem without any modification to the hull or interference with the motor — exactly what I was hoping to find.

Installed this on the swim platform of my boat and it's held up really well so far. The stainless steel construction is noticeably heavier and higher quality than the ladder it replaced — no rust or discoloration even after being out on the dock for several weeks in direct sun and water spray. Mounting was straightforward since the bolt holes matched up with my existing platform, so no extra drilling needed. It folds down flat against the side when not in use, which I like — keeps it out of the way when docking or when guests are moving around the swim platform. When folded up for use, it locks securely in place and doesn't wobble, even with some weight on the rungs getting in and out of the water. The welds and joints all look clean, no sharp edges or rough spots where you'd grab it. Really happy with how solid this feels compared to the flimsier ladder that came with the boat originally. If you're dealing with a rusted-out or shaky ladder, this is a solid upgrade.

Wasn't expecting the finish on this to be this nice honestly — it's a full mirror polish, not the dull brushed look a lot of stainless boat parts have. Looks almost like chrome in the sunlight. Mounted it on the swim platform and it lines up flush with the edge, no gaps or awkward overhang. What I like most is how compact it folds when not in use — just pulls up and tucks flat against the rail, doesn't stick out or get in the way when we're pulling up to the dock. The mounting brackets feel solid, bolted straight down through the platform, and there's zero play or wiggle when it's folded up or down. Rungs feel sturdy and evenly spaced, and the whole thing swings smoothly on the hinge without any stiffness or squeaking. After a few weeks sitting out in full sun and occasional splash, there's no water spotting or dulling on the finish yet, which is exactly what I was hoping for after dealing with a rusted-out ladder before. For anyone who wants their swim platform to actually look good instead of just functional, this one delivers on both.
