I bought this to replace an older steel slider that had started rusting and developed noticeable side-to-side movement. The difference was obvious as soon as I installed it. This aluminum slider feels substantial without being unnecessarily bulky, and the seat is much more stable now.
The pre-drilled holes matched my standard pedestal and seat base, so I did not have to drill new holes or make an adapter plate. The sliding action is smooth, and the locking handle is easy to reach while seated. Most importantly, it stays firmly in position after I set it.
My old slider made the entire seat feel loose, especially in choppy water. This one removed most of that annoying movement and made the helm feel much more secure. A worthwhile upgrade for an aging boat seat setup.

My original seat position was too close to the steering wheel, which made longer trips uncomfortable and getting in and out of the helm area awkward. Adding this slider solved the problem without requiring me to relocate the entire pedestal.
The existing hole pattern lined up with my setup after I measured everything, and installation was straightforward using my original stainless hardware. The seat now moves forward and back smoothly, so I can quickly adjust it for driving or slide it back when I need more room to stand. Once the handle is released, the slider locks securely and the seat does not move unexpectedly while underway.
It feels solid, has very little play, and made a bigger improvement to the comfort of my boat than I expected.

My old steel seat slider had started to wobble and show signs of rust, so I replaced it with this one. The marine-grade aluminum construction feels strong and substantial, and it is much better suited for boating conditions.
I installed it on my 1986 boat, and the existing mounting holes lined up without any modifications. Installation was straightforward, and once everything was tightened down, the seat felt noticeably more stable with no annoying side-to-side movement. The slider moves smoothly when adjusting the seating position and locks firmly in place, making it much easier to find a comfortable distance from the helm.
It is heavier and more solid than I expected, but that adds to the secure feel. Overall, this has been a worthwhile upgrade and the quality feels appropriate for the price.
