This was a slow burn, but also a tease that felt uncomfortable - that ultimately ended up with a MC finding strength when it first looked like something else. I don’t want to be too specific and ruin it for you! It explored some character facets that Ruby is really good at and I enjoyed the paranormal bits as well. The parallels with life as we know it - good & bad, right vs might - were painful at times, but the resolution with characters recognizing how to reconcile imperfections and how we all grow if given the opportunity/understanding/support was worth it.

A beautiful story about love and acceptance.

Blood Marks was such an incredible read! I’d heard great things about it, so I had high expectations and it literally smashed all of them! Opening with an interesting telling of Scottish folk law and an intriguing take on witches burned at the stake, I was immediately hooked and couldn’t wait to delve into this fantastical world. I fell in love with every character, each one so wonderfully written. I honestly can’t choose a favourite! Greer’s broody mysterious nature will draw you in, Freya’s sweet but determined nature will have you falling in love and Dior’s hilarious one liners will give you all the comic relief you need in this dark tale! Together they are the ultimate powerhouse and the chemistry that all three of them share, will have you reaching for that fan! 🔥🌶️ A true lesson in love, acceptance and hope, can’t believe I waited so long to read it!

The sign of a great author is when the book forces you to stop midway and just marvel at the incredible brain that dreamed up all that you’re reading. This is exactly what I experienced when reading Blood Marks. It isn’t a book that draws from personal experience, but rather it grabs imagination and creativity by the balls and absolutely runs with it! I also love the fact that this book is mostly poly, bringing much needed representation and visibility for the community. Blood Marks captures tortured broken hearts who fear hope but soon realise that hope and love are all that truly matter. Throw in the whirlwind artist who sees far too much and can take down the highest of walls, and you’re left with a riveting tale that you won’t want to put down! Trust me, my heavy eyelids at 1am can attest to this. This book weaves together passion, fantasy, fear and love. And by the end, it leaves readers full of understanding and heart, achieved only through the vulnerability of complex characters. What’s not to love?! I’ve already started recommending this to friends and will continue to do so. This story is too much fun not to be read and the ending is everything! 👏🏼
