Smart shunt and Li batteries.
Very useful bit of kit, doesn't seem to be much clear guidance out there on Li battery management. After a bit of research I finally figured out the the target charge voltage for Li batteries isn't super critical, as the voltage only jumps above 14v once battery is 99% full. So 14.1 - 14.5 represents 99.5%- 100% charge. Also there is hysteresis in the terminal voltage, being lower when discharging than charging, for the same state of charge. Finally the charging curve is very flat, (unlike lead acid). So terminal voltage, doesn't provide much insight into the state of charge. The shunt demystifies the battery charge level, and the trend display via the app, allows tracking down power losses. Very handy piece of kit for managing a Li van battery.
