This is a very nice hat, but it does get wet in the rain The inside stays dry so that's no problem and eventually you are encouraged to "re-proof" the hat to make it water resistant It seemed to take a long time to dry the first time I had worn it in the rain I think I expected something different, that it would not get wet when it rained or that it would have to be re-proofed. So I did not give the hat 5 stars. I love all the other hats I have gotten from Peak and Brim and I get favorable comments whenever I wear them and I will probably get more in the future. Just not another waxed hat.
