kSafe Mini: (White Lid + Clear Base)

The product is solid and does what I need it to, as expected. I like that the base and computer/locking mechanism are separate components, so you can shatter the bottom in case of emergency. The timed container I owned previously was all one piece with a hinged lid, meaning I eventually had to destroy the whole thing when I set it for the wrong time by mistake. Reason for 4 not 5 stars is the product feels a little bit cheap for the price point I suppose? At the 60/70 dollar eange I was expecting a more premium feel to the product - the battery compartment lid inadvertently slides off when I go to the remove the lid fairly often (I’d prefer it latch firmly with an audible click and probably a thumb tab to open instead of just sliding off - maybe thats not possible with the lid dimensions though). The plastic of the locking mechanism also feels light and flimsy, sort of like a fisher price toy or something. Not horrible by any means, just was expecting something with a more substantial/industrial grade kind of feel for the price. The whirring gear noise when locking /unlocking is another small example of how it feels just a bit clunky. Overall solid product.

This works as advertised. I am using it with a Brick device app blocker, and I block all social media, internet browser and games on my phone, and then toss the brick in the safe. It’s instant freedom and the combo of the two has probably halved my screen time overnight. I love it. And I also love knowing that if I absolutely NEEDED to get at the device, I could smash it with a sledgehammer and then just order another base for $20 (ish). Haven’t even been tempted to do that, but it’s nice knowing that it’s an option.

GREAT PRODUCT!! Perfect for doing the job I needed it for - also doesn’t seem possible to cheat the clock (I tried everything I could think of to trip it up) which is great to see.
